Diy Scarf Post!

So here is my tutorial on how to make a cute easy, tassel scarf!!

I've had this idea for a while, and I'm glad it actually works! Enjoy! 

Step one, buy 3/4 of a yard of fabric you really like: 

Step two, make tassels 

For this you will need: 

- yarn

- scissors 

- a piece of cardboard 

- yarn needle

Cut a small piece of yarn and rest it on the cardboard horizontally

then wrap yarn vertically seven times 

Cut 

Tie the small string at the top in a knot

Slide it off (make sure your knot is tight) and wrap a different piece of string (that should be about 12inches long) around your strings approximately 1.5 centimeters down from your knot (wrap it around 4-5 times)

Use the yarn needle to secure your string and hide it with the result of the tassel strings

 

Cut the ends of the tassel evenly 

This is what your tassels should look like.

You're gonna need to make about 15-20 of these 

Let's go back to our fabric, fold it in half with the ugly side out, and the pretty side in. 

Next step, we're gonna go to the sewing machine and evenly sew in our tassels onto the scarf. 

NOTE: because this is inside out, MAKE SURE you put the tassels on the inside and sew as close to the knot as possible. Space your tassels about 2.5 inches apart. 

NOTE: they don't need to be along the whole length of the scarf.  

This is what it will look like, cute little tufts sticking out of the seam 

Turn it inside out and it'll look like this!!

Now, the final step is sewing the ends together, tuck one end into the other end, fold in the edges and sew them together 

Tada!! Tassel scarf!

Cat Pencil Pouch!

Hey y'all thanks for showing up!

So today was awesome craft-wise! 

I made a scarf from scratch, which you can read about here, and do it yourself with easy step-by-step instructions.

And I made a kitty pencil pouch!! 

So I started off with some fabric, a zipper, some scissors, and a lotta hope. 

 And then after carefully following this tutorial, it turned out like this!

Crafting Spoils

Today my sister and I went on a craft date!

Here are some of my spoils : 

Some pretty,  wool yarn, which later got turned into this hat

A couple fabric quarters for corn packs:

I like this one because it's flannel fabric and reminds me of a bandana

This one is a map fabric, and it's for Ethan because he lovesssssss to travel!

I also bought this cheeky, little notepad with a cheeky little typo. So cheeky.

Here are the finished products of our corn packs! 

Backpack Making Update

Today we made mega process on backpack number one!! 

We added straps and strengthening strips to the back and a loop on the top! The next step will be adding the interior fabric (gray wool!!)  and hopefully some pockets!

We put some heavy duty strap-age to the inside of the straps for strength.

Crafting With Clay (basic bead tutorial)

I spent the other day just goofing off with some polymer clay and these were some of my favorites :) 

"Reach for the sky"

Take a lump of clay, roll it into a ball, poke almost all the way through with a toothpick. 

Pull the toothpick out and then insert it into the other side of where you made the first hole. 

Gently remove toothpick and place on the bake tray, I just use a cookie sheet. 

Cook clay at 230 degrees for 20 minutes and it will set nice and firm.

Boston Terrier Earrings

Today I finished a project, and I am very happy with the turnout. 

Boston Terrier earrings!!!

I made some Boston Terriers out of polymer clay (you can get it at any craft store in a plethora of colors) and then hot glued them to these earring posts that I got at JoAnn Fabrics:

I lightly painted on a thin, satin glaze, made specifically for polymer clay, to resist staining on the white. 

I also made some fun colored beads this morning to add to my arsenal of beads for necklace making.
