Pie Sunday!

Today after church I spent the afternoon with my good friends, The Kellers; Jessica and Julian. 

This is Jessica in the picture below. 

She is one of my closest crafting buddies. 

After doing a photo shoot at her house for our upcoming Etsy shops, Jessica and I made an apple pie! 

Here are some of the shots that we got from the day: 

Jessica made us strawberry milkshakes and they were out of this world!! 

On my way over to Ethan's house, an unfortunate occurrence happened to our sweet, little pie. 

It took a sail to the foot space of my passenger seat and wrecked itself :/ 

But don't worry, it still tasted delicious ;)

Back Pack Número Uno

We have successfully finished our first backpack!!!

If you haven't read my previous posts about Ethan's and my current project, we are sewing our own backpacks! It's been a very exciting and challenging project.

Crafting Spoils

Today my sister and I went on a craft date!

Here are some of my spoils : 

Some pretty,  wool yarn, which later got turned into this hat

A couple fabric quarters for corn packs:

I like this one because it's flannel fabric and reminds me of a bandana

This one is a map fabric, and it's for Ethan because he lovesssssss to travel!

I also bought this cheeky, little notepad with a cheeky little typo. So cheeky.

Water Coloring

This year I decided to challenge myself and do more craft projects that seemed out of my reach. I decided to "do what fears me" in order to break some barriers of my creative side, to expand my horizons artistically. 

Painting is something that has always intimidated me, it's messy, there's huge room for error, if you make a mistake it's difficult to fix, etc. 

Therefore I have challenged myself to fill the hallway with painted pictures of French Bulldogs. So far I have made three pieces of art, it's not a lot, but it's three more pieces than I made last year and that means a lot to me. Every time I finish a painting, I frame it and put it on the wall, even if I'm not completely satisfied with it. As a perfectionist, this is extremely difficult, yet it is something I do because it is forcing me to be proud of myself even when I see flaws in almost everything I create.

I hope this inspires all of you to try something you're not good at. You'll be greatly surprised by the results.

Backpack Making Update

Today we made mega process on backpack number one!! 

We added straps and strengthening strips to the back and a loop on the top! The next step will be adding the interior fabric (gray wool!!)  and hopefully some pockets!

We put some heavy duty strap-age to the inside of the straps for strength.

Arrowhead Earring Tutorial

Welcome to my tutorial on Arrowhead Earrings! Whether you were brought here by Instagram, Pinterest, or anywhere inbetween, welcome to my blog and I hope you enjoy!! 

Let's get started, here are some basic supplies you are going to need:

- Two Arrowheads 

- A Pair of earring posts 

- Hot Glue Gun 

These are some arrowheads I found at Paxton Gate, a shop on Mississippi street in Portland. (Same place that Ethan and I saw Fred Armison from Portlandia, so there's another reason to check out Paxton Gate)

First step is to place a dab of hot glue on the arrowhead 

Then you'll want to quickly place the earring post on the back of it. 

And there you have it! Arrowhead Earrings!!

I also made some lighter colored ones for a friend :) 

If you want to try making earrings out of other things; be it that you're not a big fan of arrowheads or you can't find some small enough (or dull enough lol!) , here are some other ideas:

Small clear crystals! 

Mini sand dollars!!
