A Very Black And White Biscuit Date

One of Ethan and my favorite places to eat in Portland is Pine State Biscuits.
They have a sweet, busy atmosphere, and extremely warm, tasty food. The decor is very home-y and its very easy to relax there.

Our drink of choice, the good ol' Arnold Palmer
Love this face

If you're ever on Alberta St, you should go check them out; reasonable prices, just bring good company and you're set for a wonderful eating experience.

Crafting With Clay (basic bead tutorial)

I spent the other day just goofing off with some polymer clay and these were some of my favorites :)

"Reach for the sky"
Take a lump of clay, roll it into a ball, poke almost all the way through with a toothpick.
Pull the toothpick out and then insert it into the other side of where you made the first hole.
Gently remove toothpick and place on the bake tray, I just use a cookie sheet.

Cook clay at 230 degrees for 20 minutes and it will set nice and firm.

If you have any questions you can comment in the comment section below.

I Bought My First Car!!!

Today I bought my first car!!!
I diligently saved up $2,000 for the last six months, tithed regularly, and God completely blessed my money and stretched it!!!
It's a Toyota Echo!! It gets spectacular gas mileage, is cheap to fill up, plus I get to learn stick shift! Couldn't be happier!!

Boston Terrier Earrings

Today I finished a project, and I am very happy with the turnout.
Boston Terrier earrings!!!

I made some Boston Terriers out of polymer clay (you can get it at any craft store in a plethora of colors) and then hot glued them to these earring posts that I got at JoAnn Fabrics:

I lightly painted on a thin, satin glaze, made specifically for polymer clay, to resist staining on the white.

I also made some fun colored beads this morning to add to my arsenal of beads for necklace making.

Hope to see what you guys come up with!

Crafting with the boy-o

Tonight my fabulous boyfriend, Ethan and I did some sewing. Our current project is making backpacks!! We've never done this before so we hope it turns out radical.
The fabric I chose was an oil painting-esque floral print on canvas fabric. His fabric is duck canvas which will be shown in later posts.

I'll try and post frequently about this project to let everyone know how it goes.
Blessings,

Vancouver Pizza Co. With Shannon Owen

This is my dear friend, the Shannonizer, she is driven, loyal, hilarious and has the most wonderful laugh. She enjoys the great outdoors, pizza, spotaneous pie dates, spotaneous crepe dates, and coffee at most local diners, black coffee I might add. She is one of the most rugged, brave, and charming people of this century.

Current Favorite Things pt. 1

For a long time I've wanted to read this book by the lovely, and hilarious Tina Fey, so I picked up a copy the other day at Barnes and Noble.
It's exactly as the reviews say, extremely funny, incredibly raw, and a new take on how to write a memoir.

A couple weeks ago it was my birthday, these were some of my spoils:

A sloth tea diffuser from my pseudo brother Erik, I use it every day.

Some beautiful bedding from my momma
Check out this Boston Terrier pillow here at my shop!!

A gift card to Joanns that I used to purchase this book about marketing on social media. Plus this brilliant book on typography from the wonderful Rachel Dillman (You'll meet her later on in this blog).
Cheers, hope everyone is enjoying the tail end of this horrifically hot weather in the Great Northwest,
Morgan.
